Position Descriptions
Disability Employment Services Consultant
The purpose of this position is to support DES participants taking into consideration their disability, injury, or health condition to move into suitable sustainable employment in the open labour market, providing individualised tailored services for those who meet eligibility requirements set by the Department of Social Services.
In this, you will assist participants with their vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment and seek employment and education placements whilst actively supporting them throughout their journey. You will undertake detailed assessments, set reasonable and achievable goals and work with them to overcome non-vocational barriers and improve their vocational skills. You will provide job search assistance through individual or group participation and build effective relationships with employers and a range of organisations in order to generate suitable vacancies and work experience placements for participants and provide on-the-job support to both participants and employers as required.
Transition to Work Employment Consultant
The purpose of this position is to provide service supports to young people aged 15-24 years who are considered at risk of long-term unemployment who meet core eligibility requirements set by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
In this, you will assist participants with their vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment and seek employment and education placements whilst actively supporting them throughout their employment and / or education journey. You will undertake detailed assessments, set reasonable and achievable goals and work with them to overcome non-vocational barriers and improve their vocational skills. You will provide job search assistance through individual or group participation and build effective relationships with employers and a range of organisations in order to generate suitable vacancies and work experience placements for your young participants.
