Intensive employment assistance for eligible 15 to 24-year-olds
If you are aged between 15 to 24 and have left school early or are having difficulty finding a job after school, come and see the IDEAL Placements team. We deliver the Transition to Work program across the Mackay and Whitsunday region.
Our team provides mentoring and support to help you gain employment, apprenticeships, traineeships, training, or education.

The Fun-da-mentals 4U program is available to IDEAL Placements participants to help kickstart your journey to success and fulfilment in life. The program increases your self-awareness, teaches you how to achieve satisfaction in your career and provides you with the tips and tools you need to create the life you want for yourself.

Check Your Eligibility
To take part in the Transition to Work program you must be 15 to 24 years and have either:
Australian citizenship or
An appropriate visa
Your eligibility also depends on your individual circumstances, including whether you:
Have a Year 12 certificate or equivalent e.g Certificate III.
Have been employed within the last 6 months.
Are receiving an income support payment such as Youth Allowance.
Are participating in another employment service program.
